I was an AM myself which is one of the worst jobs you can have. "Here you go..  KEYS to a Multi-millon dollar store"  is how I was promoted. No raise, just a 1 % commission increase. ALRIGHT!!!!! Now I can buy that pencil I had my eye of since I started working for GC.....   Now you need to sell, be a manager, run reports, do "clientelling" Thats how they spell it, (Not even a real ****ing word), manage deals for others, ok prices for others, answer phones, watch the door for the door people breaks, merch, break down boxes, rewire  EVERYTHING EVERY ****ING DAY because they always sell the ****ty floor model to make a dam dollar, count money, write people up for not doing clientelling, take care of angry customers, (HALF HOUR BREAK) Then back to, no customers in the store, 8 am meetings on how to sell insurance that when customers try to use for some reason, they can't.  Every excuse in the book is giving by them why they will not honor the insurance they bought.  Oh I can talk about how bad Guitar Center Is all day. But I won't.

The AMs at my store would snake deals all day long and quad themselves on every deal they had to approve.

Today is the best day to quit guitar center......  so is tomorrow,  and the next.

I worked a retail job years ago...   when I got fired,  I went home.  My mom was in panic... YOU GOT FIRED!?!?  My Dad said... you hated that place anyway.

that was about 15 years ago.......   but I was an AM at that retail store... same deal.  Just a big freaking add-on in responsibility with no pay increase to speak of.   Just a title and more wasted hours.

Guitar Center Sucks...  It has for a long time, and keeps sucking more day after day.

FACT: Union members decide what they want in their contract. By law, the company has to negotiate with your Union over wages, benefits, and other working conditions. You and your co-workers will vote whether or not to accept or reject the contract proposal.
•Union members have seniority rights.
•Union members have professional representation that provides all members with dignity and respect on the job.
•Your Union contract guarantees that your employer must pay you the wages and benefits set forth in the contract.

FACT: Union workers earn 30 percent more money than non-union workers, and 44 percent more when you include the total compensation of health and welfare benefits.

Unions Are Good for Business, Productivity and the Economy

According to Professor Harley Shaiken of the University of California-Berkeley,[1] Unions are associated with higher productivity, lower employee turnover, improved workplace communication, and a better-trained workforce.

There is a substantial amount of academic literature on the following benefits of Unions and unionization to employers and the economy:
•Productivity
•Competitiveness
•Product/Service Delivery and Quality
•Training
•Lower Turnover
•Solvency of the Company
•Workplace Health and Safety
•Economic Development
