So I used to make custom guitars in the mid nineties. Had a partner and a sucessfull business. Had to close down in 99-00 time frame but that was just for my background.

Recently lost my job and figured I'd try a job I might enjoy.

Long story short, I assume the tech position will be offered to me be based on my interviews.

So, I'd like to know what a typical salary would be (I can't find this info via glassdoor etc. - hopefully not $9/hr?!?!), and also any 'traps' I should avoid that a well seasoned working person (I am not right out of school) might get tripped up by assuming I do accept the position?

PS I did search but got a lot of irrelevant stuff, so I registered and posted

Thanks in advance!

Good luck to you boss.   The guitar tech I associate with is independent, and is authorized by Gibson/Epi as well as a few other major makers.   That may be the ticket to get warranty repairs...  It pays so-so..  BUT it puts people in front of you that may entrust you with their bigger projects.

Guitar Center Sucks...  It has for a long time, and keeps sucking more day after day.
